Eminent institutions are built and nurtured by their alumni. Similarly, HCAS is and always will be a reflection of the milestones its Alumni achieve in their professional and personal life. The vision of the college has been to engage in a mutually beneficial life-long association with its Alumni facilitating collaboration with the alumni in all relevant ventures and to bolster alumni support.
In keeping with this vision, Hindustan College of Arts & Science, celebrated ‘REHASH 2019’ it’s Silver Jubilee Mega Alumni Meet, on 14th December 2019, at Gopinath Gardens, Akkarai, ECR. The HCAS Alumni Association (HCASAA) was officially registered on 25th November 2019. The HCASAA held its investiture ceremony of the new office bearers on this day in the presence of the dignitaries.
Alumni from the batches of 1998 to 2019, from several states of India and abroad were present. Seven prominent alumni were recognized with mementos, for excellence in their profession. A photo-booth was setup to take home the reminiscence of the day. Food, games, mehandi and cotton candy stalls for children of the alumni were also arranged. Cultural events such as Lotus, LED and Laser dances were held and the show stopper of the day was a host performance by the HCAS students. A smart phone was the first prize through raffle draw tickets, out of ten other prizes. Dr. S. Illanjium, Dean – Life Sciences, Convener, of the event proposed the vote of thanks. The event ended with the grand buffet dinner.
The Mega event was graced by Dr. Mrs. Elizabeth Verghese, Chairperson, HGI who agreed to give the chairperson’s address with great alacrity. Dr. Susan Marthandan, Director, HCAS, felicitated the gathering. Dr. V J Philip, Deputy Director-Academics, Dr. S. Thirumagan, Principal, Mr. Samuel Sampath Kumar, Vice-Principal, staff and members of the Student Council were also present on the occasion.
The event received a most propitious response. It was stimulating, enjoyable and profitable as alumni shared their past experiences with overwhelming fondness and passion. Few new ideas were proposed to benefit both parties. The association is hopeful to successfully progress into a fully functional global platform soon. The alumni Association sincerely expressed its gratitude to the honorable Director for her guidance and support in organizing this grand event.
